Data deletion policy
You can delete your Fins Tribe account whenever you want. This page explains exactly what happens to your data.
How to delete your account
- Log in to Fins Tribe.
- On the Home screen open “My account” and then tap “Delete my account”.
- Type your password and confirm. The deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
- If you cannot log in, write to admin@scubasign.com from the email address of your account and we will delete it for you within a reasonable time.
What we delete right away
- Your account: email address, password (stored only as a hash), language and preferences.
- Your sessions on every device.
- Your name and email address in your post-dive survey answers. The rating and comment stay, without anything that identifies you, so the dive shop keeps its reviews.
- Your email address on the unlock codes you redeemed (the code still counts as used).
What we keep, and why
- Donation and payment records, as long as tax, accounting, fraud-prevention and legal rules require.
- The record of when you accepted our Terms and Privacy Policy (including the IP address and device used), to be able to prove your consent.
- Unlock codes you bought and did not use stay valid for whoever holds them.
- Deleted data can remain in encrypted backups for a limited time, until they are overwritten.
Full Access
Full Access (every species photo, the dive-site filter, the full encyclopedia and the downloadable app) belongs to the account. When the account is deleted, that access ends.
Scuba Sign data
Your check-in and registration data belong to Scuba Sign App, which has its own privacy policy and is not deleted from here. Ask your dive shop or write to us.
